An Important Message from the Nominating Committee
It is only February of this new year, but the Nominating Committee has already begun its work to form the slate of church officers, fill committee vacancies, and enlist teachers for 2021. This process will be ongoing over a period of several months. We want to enlist the help of our entire congregation in accomplishing this task. Following are some of the ways each of you as members of our congregation can help.
First of all, please pray that God will give our committee insight and wisdom as we try to discern the members of our fellowship who are gifted to serve on one or more of the committees which are so vital to the work and mission of our church, teach a Sunday School class, serve as an officer of our church, or serve in other capacities.
Please prayerfully consider your own gifts and interests and see if you feel led to serve. If so, please let our committee know. Also, if you feel there is an individual/s in our fellowship who may be gifted in particular ways that would make them a good candidate to serve in some capacity in our church, please let us know and we will consider these people for a position that matches their talents, experience, and interests. We want to give everyone a chance to serve who can and will. We also do not want to overburden anyone with too many jobs and responsibilities, so we need many people to step up and serve.
Another goal is to involve people across the age spectrum in the work and life of our church. To this end we encourage younger people to join our more seasoned members in service within our fellowship. Our church is blessed with many talented and committed people. Let’s all put our shoulders to the wheel to get the work of our church done, and by so doing, we will be serving our Lord and strengthening our fellowship.
Lastly, please be open to considering and accepting an invitation to serve if you are called by one of our committee members.
To offer yourself for consideration for service or to submit for consideration the name of a person/s you feel to be gifted to serve in some role in our church, please contact one of the members of our committee (our com- mittee members are Gina Brannock, Sam Gentry, Wendy Harmon, Herbert Inman, Roger Kerley, and Barbie Simmons), give your suggestion to a member of our church staff, or drop a note in the suggestion box which will be located in the breezeway for the next few weeks. We wish to collect these recommendations over the next two to three weeks, as we will begin the process of contacting individuals to consider serving beginning in March.
Thank you for giving this your prayerful consideration and thank you for your active participation in the life of our church.

Grace’s Closet Has Moved Again!
Even though it is still officially winter, many are already longing for Spring, With Spring, comes extra cleaning and doing away with unwanted items from our closets and basements. You can get an early start by bringing your new and gently used clothing and shoes to Grace’s Closet which is now located in the breezeway. These items are removed each month by our WMU ladies and taken for donation to Grace’s Closet on Old Jones School Road.
